From Magic Erasers To Baby Godzillas...

Since I've somehow managed to take a bit of a blogging break, I thought I'd catch up on a few random happenings.  This break was mostly due in part to my inability to tell time...or at least be able to keep track of it!  I'm having an incredibly difficult time with the thought that 2013 is less than two weeks away!  Seriously...I was just getting started on my New Year Resolution's for 2012!  Who am I fooling...I'm still working on the ones set back in 1985!  And this folks is why I never actually set resolutions...aside from the one time that I blogged my resolution for all the world to see!  Guess I won't be doing that again.

Anyway, here's a peak into what's been going on around here.

1.  Logan spent some time on this special bench (aka: Time Out Chair)

for sharing his artwork in places like this:

His lovely work can also be seen on numerous other walls throughout the house.  It's his own little exhibit hall.  Please call to schedule your own personal showing.  Autographs will be available at the end of the tour.

And this is why we have stock in those fabulous Magic Erasers.

2.  Levi has a new trick much to his brother's delight.  He's stacking instead of destroying!  See, Logan's block-made towers tend to stay up just a wee bit longer since baby Godzilla is no longer on the loose!

3.  During school, Merisa's class was asked to give a synonym for the word "mistake".  Merisa responded with the obvious answer..."boys!"  I can't imagine where she gets it from...No, sir!

4. Our little boys think the world functions much better during 2nd shift.  That is, up at night, and sleep during the day.  Who am I fooling?  When it comes to sleep, they give the Cullens a run for their money.  These boys no longer require sleep...none at all!  They must be sneaking some sort of energy booster while I'm not looking.  Maybe they're just loaded with an entire warehouse of Energizer batteries. Who knows?  I will say that the lack of sleep is causing havoc on the older inhabitants of this home. It's a wonder that I haven't ran to the store in my mismatched jammies with my hair in side ponytail straight from the '80s all the while thinking I was fully dressed and polished.  Oh, wait...I did!  And it's possible that it was a little worse than what I'm disclosing.

This may explain why I'm in complete and utter shock that Christmas is only a few days away! Don't get me started on where the last 5 years went!

However, the lack of sleep sometimes catches up with the wee little lads during dinner time.

5.  Finally, Logan is becoming more cooperative when it comes to taking pictures.  Granted, this is the face that he often shares...
Guess I should tell him not to force the smile so much!

Tidbits From The Farm: Part Deux

1.  We were asking Logan what sounds various animals make...'cause that's what you do with 2-year olds.  It's in the toddler handbook after all!  When asked what does a cow say, he replied "Boo"...aka "Moo!"  What sound does a duck make?  Logan said "Quack, quack."  What does a dog do?  To which he replied "Ruff, ruff."  Then, Matt asked him "What does a rabbit say?"  Without skipping a beat, he said "GO AWAY!"  Yep, he's probably right!  Heck, most of the critters are surely thinking "Help me!  Help me!  This wild, spunky little boy is going to ruin my innards!  Get him away from me! I'm going to parish right in front of your eyes!"

2.  The bebe is quite a little mover nowadays.  I mean, lightning fast crawling!  When he's on the loose, he has one thing on his mind.  So you'll often hear someone ask "Where's the bebe?"  Followed by "Levi, STOP EATING THE DOG FOOD!"  Man, I thought we just got through this phase with Logan, and now here we are again.  And what is the fetish with dog food?  I mean, it smells more like doggy poo than food.  I can't imagine what it tastes like!

3.  Logan has a new favorite phrase.  Instead of shaking his head uncontrollably when asked if he wants more to eat, he says "I do."  Any time he wants to answer "yes", he says "I do."  So our days go like this:  "Logan, do you want to go outside?"  "I do."  "Logan, are you ready for lunch?"  "I do."  "Logan, do you want to play tractors?" "I do."  "Logan, do you want to go bye-bye?" "I do."  I think this boy is practicing for his marriage vows!

4.  Since moving to the country (and having two little ones to keep me busy), I've become quite laxed.  I tend to take my time when it comes to getting dressed in the morning.  Okay, it's more like afternoon before I'm "presentable"!  So when I saw my husband coming up the drive in the middle of the day, I ran out in my pjs to meet him.  Bad part...a friend was IN THE VEHICLE with him!  In horror, I shrieked with a loud "EEEKKKKK" and ran towards the house.  The said visitor laughed in surprise and probably thought "That's a sight for sore eyes!"  Oh, this isn't the first time I've been less than presentable outside of my home.  I NEVER thought I'd be that woman!

5.  Have I mentioned how I am a picture hoarder?!  That's right, in case you didn't notice, I take pictures of EVERYTHING!  And if I don't take them, I get copies from everyone else that does.  So I noticed Logan outside being oh so cute.  I thought "I better run and grab the camera while I have the chance."  I was SO excited to find Logan ultra cooperative and even posing for his mama!  I took a bunch of pictures and couldn't wait to upload them to see what I got.  As I looked down at the camera preview screen, it displayed "NO CARD IN CAMERA!"  Really?!  Why couldn't said camera tell me BEFORE I started shooting "Hey, stupid woman trying to capture your kids in the moment..you forgot the MEMORY CARD!"  Come on, technology...work with me here!

*Disclaimer:  I don't willing allow the bebe to snack on dog food.  It's generally put away so that it's not in the bebe's reach.  But the doggies need to eat sometime...and the bebe knows it!

Tidbits From The Farm...

Don't be too sad. Nothing I'm about to say has anything to do with the farm...or at least not the farm animals! I know you're really disappointed 'cause I'm sure reading about our crazy chickens is the highlight of your day.  They're locked away for winter so I'm not in "contact" with them...well, it's more like you won't see me running and screaming from yet another scary, wild chicken!  For all those people who are raising chickens in the big cities like New York, I question WHY?  Yes, it's nice to gather your own eggs, but people, there's nowhere to run!  How will you ever be safe?

Anywho, here's some tidbits...
  • Matt and I were talking about Merisa going to a parochial school.  We had just discovered that someone we knew went to a parochial school as a child. I asked if this said person was still Catholic, and Matt said no. He's switched to another Christian denomination. Merisa looked up in complete surprise and questioned... "You can UNCATHOLIC yourself?"  We were so busy laughing that I don't think we ever answered her question! No wonder kids are so confused these days...especially when they have nonsupporting parents like us! =)
  • The other day Logan ran into the toy room and closed the door. I asked him what he was doing, and he answered "NO!" Yep, knew that wouldn't end well, but yet, I still didn't question him again. A minute or two later, and he came running out....stark NECKID! He yelled "POOP!" I didn't see anything, but he wanted me to follow him into the toy room. It started to hit me then. As I raced to beat the dogs to the treasure I was sure to find, I discovered that yes, Logan relieved himself on the floor! Later, I shared the story with Matt, and he said "Well, I better rephrase my point for I've been telling him to STOP pottying in his PANTS." Guess Logan thought going anywhere but in his diaper was what daddy wanted! Silly boy!
  • I'm in the process of painting and decorating the toy room! I thought I'd have LOTS of fun doing this...nope. Normally, I don't have any troubles picking out paint colors...until this room! Seriously, it's been every shade of yellow beginning with mustard and ending with...ummm...URINE! And this is not good seeing it started out as a lovely shade of baby POO! I think this room is way too close to the bathroom! It's pretty bad when the kids come in the room and say "That looks HORRIBLE" and "What color are you REALLY going to paint it?" Uh, I have NO idea! I need some sort of consultant. That lovely website Pinterest is giving me way too many options, which are all getting bamboozled in my head and coming out in pure chaos...or should we say as colors of digestion! Oh, well. Hopefully, one day it will look complete, and then, I can post some pictures for you. Don't keep your fingers crossed, though!
  • Seriously, I didn't plan on having this many stories about bowel movements.  Last one, I promise!  Guess that's all that happens around here!  Anyway, as a parent, you might know that it's a NEVER-ENDING battle between you and the diaper!  And when you have two in diapers, it's nothing less than WW III.  Our boys like to tag-team the event, as well.  When one goes, he quietly signals to the other that it's time for him to do his deed now.  Honestly, as soon as I get one changed, I notice a funny "new" smell.  Yep, the other one needs my attention, too.  So the other day as I finished changing Logan, I got him dressed and sent him on his merry way.  Didn't think much about it until I heard him in a worried tone say "Mommeee?"  I was like why aren't you going anywhere?  Unfortunately, it took me a minute to figure out the problem.  Somehow I managed to put BOTH of his legs in the SAME pant leg!  He looked like a little mer-man (or if you're not PC, then mermaid)!  How did I do that and not notice?  Not sure, but I'm guessing he's lost all faith in me at the age of two.  For Merisa, it took a little longer, I think!

  • Logan and Levi were playing together on the floor. It was so sweet. Logan was playing with some Legos, and Levi was just cooing and staring at his amazing brother. He just LOVES his brother. Then, wouldn't you know it, Levi rolls over onto Logan's extraordinary tower causing it to fall in complete horror to the ground! Logan gasped and cried "NO, BEBE BUBBA!" This is, then, followed with a small little hand smacking Levi's bottom. Guess he needed a spankin' for his unkind actions! Yep, we'll be working with him on this one!
